I MET MIKE KUNKEL!

Mike Kunkel is the artist/creator of Herobear and the Kid, the first comic book I ever read cover to cover! He worked as an animator for Disney and Warner Bros. for many years before creating his own comic book …'the animation way'! Coming from an animation background myself I was immediately hooked on the unique style. (…Not a bad little story either!) The richly textured pencils are solidly drawn with tremendous appeal, and is so captivating it took me several days to read each issue of Herobear simply because I 'savored' every page, panel, and line! Kandrix and I created A MONK'S TALE in a style inspired by Mike Kunkel!

As important as my love of the delicious artwork is the uninterruptible flow of the story. Mike's page layout is nothing shy of brilliant! (I think that's why I had never gotten into comics before…I never knew how to read them!) But Mike's done his homework and did all the thinking, so we as the reader don't have to (as it should be)! It is such an effortless and enjoyable read!

I was thrilled to meet Mike in person and point out his name in my list of "thank yous" for being my main source of inspiration! I was happy to find Mike to be the kindest, most genuine, and humble guy you could imagine! He showed sincere gratitude toward his fans, proving to be a true inspiration indeed!

"Cheers to you, Mike!" for the recent release of Issue #5! I look forward to the next chapter!
