In the commotion of packing, proofing and reprinting Issue #1 and fulfilling the last of our shifts at work, we arrive at the airport in a whirlwind! “No turning back now” and why would we?!? The hard part is over! With about 200 copies of Issue #1 in hand, we buckle up for an experience unlike any other (and my first time outside of Canada)!

The adventure begins!…

We land in Chicago at midnight local time…the first flight for either of us since 09.11.01. I make it a point to shake the hands of the staff onboard and thank them personally. As I take my first steps on American soil I lavish in the heat and humidity of a hot Chicago summer night and proclaim, “I’m finally ‘somewhere else’!”

We arrange for a rental vehicle and spend the next 2 days cruisin’ America’s Windy City.
