| San Diego Comic Con |
August 1-4, 2002
| Our flight from Chicago to San Diego is uneventful save having to reroute
past a large pillar of smoke produced by one of the many fires burning out
of control in California the summer. Soon after bypassing the smoke and
flames, we begin our descent into San Diego’s Lundbourg Airport. To
me, there is no thrill greater than seeing my first palm tree from overhead!…
Only one day to relax, sightsee, and spend leisurely in downtown San Diego
before the Con begins. This being our first time at the Con, we have only
a vague idea of what to expect (certainly not Wednesday’s line ups
for Preview Night)!
My first (and last) stop of the Con is Mike Kunkel’s booth –
creator of Herobear and the Kid, the first comic book/series (by the way!)
that I ever read cover to cover, inspiring me enough to make a comic book
of my own! |
